 "The best country music has always come from a hard life, an honest living, and a deep respect for tradition."

Kansas singer-songwriter Brody Baker comes by his music honestly. His mother, a classically trained musician; and his father, a cowboy, who was the classic country influence for Brody, were both integral parts of his future songwriting. Brody played drums in the church growing up and played for several local bands, involving several genres, before finally starting the journey of writing his own brand of authentic country music.

Brody pours his heart and soul into his music telling tales of love and loss. Which are evident in songs like “Bath Bombs & Whiskey”, and "Prayer".

“Bath Bombs & Whiskey”, is an upbeat country song, dedicated to and inspired by his own mother, that goes out to all the hard-working women out there.

“Prayer”, a great example of a country ballad, speaks on the struggles of his own relationship with his faith and battles we all face when unsure what direction to take in our life. Ending in a beautiful silver lining and a few lines of the classic hymn "Amazing Grace".  

Brody uses experiences from his own life to make his songs meaningful and easy to connect with. Through struggles of loss of close friends, his battle with childhood cancer, and personal relationships. Brody remains optimistic and hopeful, which is what he aims to give to the listener. 

Life isn't all serious though. Brody enjoys writing about the humorous and lighthearted side of life. Which is shown through songs like “Don’t Shoot the Messenger", where he playfully talks about rejecting advice we sometimes need to hear but may not want.
